ALKALINE WATER RECIPES

Alka Power hydration and detoxification recipes with active minerals and 9-10 pH alkaline water.

Fat Bomb Green Smoothie

Serves 2-4

  • 300 ml coconut cream or milk
  • ½ avocado, stone and skin removed
  • 1 handful of silverbeet, spinach or kale leaves, central stems removed, leaves roughly chopped
  • 1 handful of mint or flat-leaf parsley leaves
  • 1 egg
  • 8 macadamia nuts, soaked for 2 hours then drained
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or MCT oil
  • Alkaline water, as needed

Add the coconut cream or milk, avocado, your chosen green and herb leaves, the egg, macadamias, cinnamon and oil to a blender and blend until smooth. Slowly pour in the alkaline water until you reach the desired consistency. Whiz again and serve immediately in tall glasses.

TIP
You can pre-soak the nuts and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Fat Bomb Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie

Serves 2-4

  • 1 young coconut (flesh and juice) or 250 ml coconut water
  • 250 ml alkaline water, plus more added to desired consistency
  • 1 ripe avocado, stone and skin removed
  • 40 g silverbeet, spinach or kale, roughly chopped
  • 1 large handful fresh mint leaves, parsley or coriander
  • 1 free-range organic egg (uncooked)
  • 8 walnuts, soaked overnight
  • 8 macadamia nuts, soaked overnight
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod (seeds scraped) or ½ teaspoon vanilla powder

Cut open the tops of the coconut by chopping a square opening into the top (preferably with 4 incisions using a cleaver), and pour out the coconut water directly into a blender jug. Scrape out the soft coconut flesh from the inside of the coconut shell with a spoon, and chop the flesh into chunks.

Drain and rinse the soaking walnuts and macadamias.

Add the coconut flesh and all other remaining ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Add more alkaline water until you to reach your desired consistency. Serve immediately either in a tall milkshake glass or served from the coconut shell with a straw.

  • 2 mango cheeks
  • 50 g (1 cup) baby spinach and/or basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 tablespoon powdered collagen
  • ½ teaspoon maca powder (optional)

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, pour in 250 ml of alkaline water and blend until smooth. Add more alkaline water slowly until you reach your desired consistency, blend again and serve immediately.

Green Smoothie

Katogenic Choc-Berry Smoothie

  • 400 ml coconut cream
  • 100 ml alkaline water
  • 80 g fresh or frozen mixed berries, plus extra to serve
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 3 tablespoons cacao or carob powder
  • 1 tablespoon grass-fed collagen powder

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a tall milkshake glass or, if you’re on the go, in a bottle. Finish with some extra berries, if you like.

TIP
If you prefer a little more sweetness, add stevia to taste.
This smoothie can be made in advance, frozen and then popped in your lunch box to thaw. Just give it a good shake before drinking.

Katogenic Choc-Berry Smoothie

Creamy Chai Smoothie

Serves 2

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1–2 teaspoons gelatine or collagen powder (ideally from grass-fed cattle)
  • 15 macadamia nuts, soaked for 2 hours then drained
  • 250 ml (1 cup) alkaline water
  • 250 ml (1 cup) coconut cream or coconut milk

Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into glasses, dust with a pinch of extra cinnamon and serve immediately.
