What is Alka Power & where does it come from?

Alka Power is an ionic calcium infused alkaline water with a stable pH of 9-10. Our process includes infusing ionic minerals (calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium) from farmed coral, mother of pearl and seashell which are all ethically sourced and are 100% absorbed by the body. Alka Power provides the ultimate hydration your body requires day in and day out.

Why Should I drink Alka Power?

Drinking Alka Power helps the body reverse problems and to stay fit and strong – at a low cost. If we must drink water, and indeed it is a hydration must, we might as well drink the healthiest water. By regularly drinking Alka Power you will notice your energy levels lift, your skin will feel softer and your nails will become stronger. Most bottled waters are acidic or at best, mildly acidic. Tap water may have minerals, but it also contains various unwanted sediments, differently in every water district. Bottled water or tap water – either one is a serious problem, as we are meant to drink healthier water. The best way to know if Alka Power does something for you, is to simply try it, and enjoy it!

What is a high pH?

pH stands for potential hydrogen and is the measurement of alkaline and acid. The pH range goes from 1-14, where 1 is highly acidic and 14 is highly alkaline. A neutral pH is 7.0, so below 7 is within an acidic range and above 7 is within an alkaline range. Alka Power offers a stable high pH of 9-10 from the time of bottling until the time you drink it. There are different types of alkaline waters on the market and the high pH in some cases is irrelevant as the right type of minerals need to be added to create the ultimate hydration.

What does pH mean to me?

A balanced pH is critical for your overall wellness and is one of the most important elements affecting your body function. Our blood is regulated between 7.35 – 7.40 pH depending on imbalances through what we consume in our diet and/or illnesses. The pH range goes from 1-14, where 1 is highly acidic and 14 is highly alkaline. A neutral pH is 7.0, so below 7 is within an acidic range (poor) and above 7 is within an alkaline range (adequate).

What are other high alkaline foods to assist with good health?

A list of high alkaline foods sitting in the pH 9-10 scale include:
Raw spinach, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, seaweed, raw broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, asparagus, artichokes, lemons, lime, kale, onion, green beans, mangoes, tangerines, grapes, lettuce, sweet potato, raw eggplant, blueberries, papayas, melons, pears, figs, dates, kiwi, avocados, green tea, celery, peas and beets.

What are the health benefits that come with Alka Power?

Alka Power can effectively neutralize and wash away accumulated acid build up inside your body. In the process, this helps blood circulation. It can also help prevent alkaline mineral loss from bones and other organs – which occurs in the body’s effort to maintain ideal pH levels. Alka Power is structured in such a way as to be more hydrating than regular water. In addition, taking in a consistent supply of these minerals through drinking this refreshing water, helps to prevent mineral loss. Learn more Health benefits of Alkaline here.

Is it safe for me to drink Alka Power whilst being pregnant?

Yes, it is safe. When a woman becomes pregnant, she lacks alkaline minerals in her body because the alkaline minerals are first used to nourish and build the new life, especially during the first trimester. During sleep at night, she loses a large amount of alkaline minerals to her foetus, and her blood turns acidic very rapidly overnight, causing morning sickness. According to world-famous water specialist Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj (who wrote Your Body’s Many Cries for Water), morning sickness is also the thirst signal of both the foetus and the mother. Drinking Alka Power is highly recommended for women who experience morning sickness.

Is Alka Power good for high blood pressure?

Yes. When the small blood vessel is clogged or passageway in the blood vessels become narrow due to acid waste built up around artery walls or when there is insufficient amount of oxygen in the blood, the blood pressure increases as more blood is pumped up to make up for the insufficient flow and oxygen. When people with high blood pressure consumes a lot of acid-forming foods, sugar and tobacco, the blood pressure increases even more as these consume oxygen in the blood at a very high rate. Alka Power natural ionic calcium alkaline water is not a medicine for high blood pressure. However, it can help people with high blood pressure by effectively melting away the acid waste build up and instantly providing hydration for better blood circulation and supplying oxygen to the cells with rich oxygen present in it.

Why is Alka Power better than tap water?

Tap water may have minerals, but it also contains various unwanted sediments, differing in every water district bringing up old rust dirt and other foreign materials. Tap water also has a pH of 7 this being neutral compared to Alka Power which has a stable pH of 9-10.

What does BPA & BPS Free mean?

BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPS stands for bisphenol-S substitution for BPA.
BPA & BPS is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins since the 1960s. BPA & BPS is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are often used in containers that store food and beverages, such as water bottles. Some research has shown that BPA & BPS can seep into food or beverages from containers that are made with BPA & BPS. Exposure to BPA & BPS is a concern because of possible health effects of BPA & BPS on the brain, behaviour and prostate gland of foetuses, infants and children. Therefore to protect our consumers we remove this from all Alka Power bottles and caps.

What are active ionic minerals & why are they important?

Minerals are essential nutrients that cannot be manufactured through cell metabolism and therefore must be obtained through food and water. Over the years, there has been much written about vitamins, with very little provided on the subject of minerals and minerals in water. While it is true that vitamins play an important role in our bodies and that our bodies have the capacity to manufacture vitamins A, B and K (with the assistance of sunlight), the same is not true for minerals. Vitamins can also be manufactured in laboratories. Minerals, however, have to be mined from the earth. Minerals combined with dietary proteins, fats, carbohydrates and vitamins become an integral part of our body and its functions. Minerals play the essential role of building and regulating. Our regulatory functions allow for fluid secretion from the glands, maintenance of water and acid-alkaline balance, transmission of impulses, transportation of oxygen and carbon dioxide, transmission and discharge of metabolic waste, maintaining heart beats, blood clotting, and enzyme activity.
